There are 3 Targets for Auditions:
1. To define the fundamentals in each dancer, at all levels, thus "setting the bar " from which you will all be built into stronger dancers!
2. To give every recruit the greatest possible time in front of the drill instructors who are making placement (audition) decisions.
3. To place each and every recruit in the Company which will provide the best possible blues building experience.

How will you get all of this face time with the instructors?
During the morning class, the instructors will be in rotation with you, allowing every recruit to dance with the instructors. If you are auditioning, the instructor will examine your dancing, paying attention to your connection, pulse, skill, and musicality. Instructors will be watching to see if you learn from the rotation. So you'll get to dance with the instructors without the pressures of standing in front of the class.

The instructors will be auditioning recruits all day long, beginning with the first class period. It is highly recommended that you attend the entire day, in order to insure your placement in the appropriate track. If you can't make it due to extenuating circumstances, please email us and let the organizers know and we will try to accommodate you as best we can.

While exceptions may be made to those who have informed us ahead of time that we will not be there precisely when the workshop begins, but will be arriving before lunch, NO exceptions are made If you have not arrived by the time Operation: MIMIC starts on Friday: you will only be allowed to participate in company A classes for the remainder of the day, and you will be able to audition Saturday morning, if you so desire."

What else is in store for you?
We're bringing in something never before seen at a Blues workshop. We're calling it -

You don't have security clearance to get all the details. What we can tell you is that it is named "MIMIC" for a reason, and that it will be an experience in which you will improve your ability to learn and become a better dancer, while also evaluating what Company you will be placed in.

This method of auditioning will allow you to focus on basics without sacrificing advanced musicality and connection. It eliminates the fear of "I had a bad dance during that 2 minute audition period." or the complaint of "The instructors only saw me for too short of a time."

Plus, it gives you an entire day to have your level evaluated to help assure you get placed in the Company that best fits you, while giving you a full day of workshops and learning at the same time.
